About Legacy Harbor
A safe harbor for every author's story
We are a team of writers, editors, designers and publishing specialists who believe every meaningful story deserves to be told well, and every author deserves to keep what their book earns.

Our story
Why we named ourselves after a harbor
A harbor is where ships come home safely after a long journey. That is what we want to be for authors. Writing a book is a voyage: exciting, a little uncertain and far easier with a steady light to steer by.
Legacy Harbor Publishing began with a simple frustration. Too many talented people were giving up on their books, or handing over their rights and most of their earnings just to see them in print. We built a different kind of publishing company, one that gives independent authors the same professional team a major house would, while the author keeps full ownership.
Today our writers, editors, designers and marketers work with first-time authors, business leaders, pastors, parents writing for their children and seasoned novelists building a series. The books are different; the promise is the same.

Author stories
In our authors' words
I had forty years of stories and no idea how to shape them. My writer listened for hours, found the thread that tied everything together and gave me a book my grandchildren actually read. It sounds exactly like me.
The outline alone was worth it. Every chapter arrived on schedule, the edits were sharp, and the book was live on Amazon in paperback and Kindle the week of my conference. Clients now find me through it.
My editor caught plot holes I had stopped seeing years ago, and the cover team nailed the look of my genre on the first round of concepts. Readers keep telling me the cover is why they clicked.
I was nervous about the technical side of publishing. My project manager explained every step in plain English, set everything up in my own accounts and never once made me feel silly for asking.
The illustrator brought my little fox to life better than I pictured him. We printed copies for school visits and the quality is beautiful. The kids light up when I read it to them.
They treated my message with real care. The launch plan was thoughtful and honest about what to expect, and the monthly reports showed exactly where the budget went.
Hearing the narrator auditions read my own pages made the choice easy. The finished audiobook was accepted by every store the first time, and my listeners love the voice.
My manuscript had hundreds of footnotes, maps and tables. The formatting team handled all of it cleanly and the printed book looks like it came from a university press.
